- The work is from Almannaskarð to Stafafell, approximately 20.7 km of 3x240q 24kV high-voltage cable will be laid along with approximately 11.9 km of 3x50q 24kV high-voltage cable. Total of 19 underground substations and one switchgear will be installed. Low-voltage local cables need to be laid from the underground substations towards the farms, approximately 2 km in total. It is expected that fiber optic cables will be laid along the high-voltage cables from the branch to Stafafellsfjöll and into Eilífsdalur, the pipeline route is approximately 1.6 km. The work is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 12, 2025 and should therefore be completed on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
