Description : The city of Reykjavik and FILA, The Association of icelandic landscape architects organize a design competition for Lækjartorg (Square) and adjacent streetscapes. The aim of the competition is to receive a fruitful and interesting design ideas for this historical area in the heart of the city center of Reykjavik in line with other nearby transformations. The competition area covers Laekjartorg, Laekjargata from Hverfisgata to Austurstraeti, Austurstraeti and Bankastraeti from Thingholtsstraeti. The competition is a pre-selection design competition and is in two stages. The first phase is open to everyone who meets requirements for eligibility. (See the contest programme).
