- Isavia intends to initiate a Concession procedure to select a single operator for scheduled passenger buses between KeflaviΜk International Airport and the ReykjavΓk capital area. Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the attractiveness, efficiency, and environmental sustainability of passenger bus services to/from KEF. KEF is located in southwest Iceland, about 50km from downtown ReykjaviΜk. Over the past decade, the airport experienced rapid growth thanks to Iceland-s popularity as a tourist destination. Iceland-s residents are also frequent travelers: in 2023, 3/4 of our population traveled abroad, almost all via KEF. For this opportunity, Isavia is seeking a single partner to operate and develop a Quality Bus Product (βQ-busβ) that offers a high level of service and aligns with our customer experience and net zero targets. The operator will also initiate a transition to electric vehicles and/or vehicles that use other renewable fuel sources during the contract term. In return, the Q-bus operator will enjoy privileged access to our rapidly growing customer base. This includes exclusive access to a Quality Bus Area in the forecourt, exclusive advertising opportunities, and the exclusive right to operate in the baggage hall, as well as a highly visible location in the arrival hall.
